Hardboiled Crime. Robotic Cops. A City Without Mercy.
Welcome to Blackout City, a dystopian world of crime, corruption, and science-fiction noir created by Mark Slade and Frank Larnerd.
It's an alternate 1960s, where the streets are dangerous, the criminals are ruthless, and the police aren't necessarily human.
Meet Joe Smoke, a hardboiled private detective navigating a city where trouble waits around every corner. From murder investigations and dangerous clients to bizarre conspiracies and supernatural mysteries, Joe's cases take him deep into the underworld of a society where technology and human vice have become inseparable.
Combining the gritty atmosphere of classic detective fiction with the imagination of speculative science fiction, Blackout City offers a world populated by colourful criminals, mysterious strangers, dangerous women, and mechanical enforcers.
Written and directed for audio by Mark Slade, the adventures of Joe Smoke feature ensemble performances, atmospheric music, and the sharp-edged storytelling traditions of pulp detective fiction.
